Alarm clock for iPhone

The alarm you
have to earn.

Reveil will not turn off until you have solved, typed, scanned or shaken your way out of bed. No snooze button to reach for half-asleep — just a small task that wakes your brain up before your feet hit the floor.

The problem

The snooze button is the only
button you press asleep.

Every other decision of your day gets made by a conscious person. This one gets made by a hand in the dark, nine minutes at a time, and it sets the tone for everything after it.

3×

You snooze on autopilot

A tap is not a decision. Your hand finds the button and your brain never comes online — most people repeat it three times or more before the morning actually starts.

30 min

Fragmented sleep, not extra sleep

The minutes between alarms are the worst sleep of the night. You restart a cycle you will never finish, and you get up groggier than if you had risen the first time.

0

Nothing carries to tomorrow

A normal alarm has no memory. Every morning starts from zero, so a good one never turns into a streak and a bad one never costs you anything.

A louder alarm does not fix this. A harder alarm does.

The solution

Put a task between you
and the silence.

Reveil replaces dismiss-and-snooze with a mission. You cannot complete it without thinking, moving or standing up — and by the time it is done, going back to sleep is no longer the obvious choice.

  1. 01

    Set the alarm

Pick a time, a repeat schedule and a sound — the ordinary part, done in seconds.

  2. 02

    Attach a mission

Choose the task and how hard it is: three math problems, one typed phrase, a barcode across the flat.

  3. 03

    Earn the silence

The alarm rings until the mission is done. No snooze, no dismiss, no negotiating with yourself.

  4. 04

    Keep the streak

Every morning you get up on the first alarm adds a day. Watching the number climb is what makes it stick.

Missions

Pick your kind of difficult.

Four ways out of bed, each with easy, medium and hard settings and a repetition count. Different alarms can carry different missions.

Math

Solve problems before the alarm stops.

Arithmetic that scales from easy to hard. You cannot fake your way through mental math at 6am — by the third problem you are genuinely awake.

Typing

Type a phrase out, word for word.

A full phrase, spelled correctly. Typos reset the word, so half-closed eyes will not get you back to sleep any faster.

Barcode

Scan any barcode to stop the alarm.

Register a barcode somewhere far from your bed — the toothpaste, the coffee bag, the cereal box — and the alarm only stops once you are standing in front of it.

Shake

Shake the phone until the counter fills.

Pure movement. Nothing to think about, but you cannot do it lying still, and thirty seconds of it gets your heart rate up.

In the works

  • Photo Take a picture of a chosen object.
  • Push-ups Count out reps to dismiss.

Streaks

One morning is willpower.
Forty is a habit.

Every alarm you beat on the first ring adds a day to your streak. It is the one part of Reveil that is not about being strict — it is the part that makes tomorrow morning feel like it is worth something.

FAQ

Questions people ask
before they commit.

Can I just force-quit the app?

The alarm is scheduled through iOS, so closing Reveil does not silence it. The mission is still waiting when you open it back up.

What if I genuinely need to get up fast?

Set the easy difficulty and a single repetition. It still takes a few seconds of real attention, but it will not stand between you and a fire alarm.

Does it work with the phone on silent?

Yes. Reveil uses the system alarm path, so it rings through the silent switch like the built-in clock does.

Do I need an account?

No. Alarms and streaks live on your device.
